About York Shakespeare Project

York Shakespeare Project was established in 2001, and is committed to performing all of Shakespeare’s known plays in York over a period of 20 years. Founded in 2001, YSP is an unincorporated association registered as a charity, and has so far staged 27 productions covering 30 of Shakespeare’s plays. We are on target to produce all the plays by 2020. Recent productions have included a nearly-sold-out run of Twelfth Night directed by Mark Smith at York Theatre Royal Studio, Henry V directed by Maggie Smales – The York Press ‘York Play of the Year 2015’ – Pericles directed by Sophie Paterson and King Lear directed by Ben Prusiner, all three at Upstage Centre Youth Theatre, Monkgate.
